MRI system manufacturers
 

Two Chinese companies were exhibiting MRI systems:

Beijing Wandong Medical Equipment Co Ltd were showing the iOPEN 0.36T scanner.

Neusoft were showing the Light 0.35T and the Sparkler 1.5T.

RF coil manufacturers
  A number of RF coil manufacturers are exhibiting:
  • Invivo (this is a merger with MRI devices and MR Advances)
  • Medrad
  • USA instruments

MRI devices
 

Medrad

Medrad are exhibiting the Spectris Solaris injector compatible with static field strengths of up to 3T.

They are also exhibiting the Continuum infusion pump, again compatible up to 3T.

Also announced was VERIS, a new patient monitor, which is based on optical fibres. This will be available in the first quarter of 2005 and will be exhibited at next year's ECR exhibition.

 

Portal

Portal are displaying the Portal Gravity System (PGS).

This device applies pressure to a supine patient to mimic the effects of gravity on the lumbar spine, as if the patient were standing in an upright position.

 

Kajima Corporation

The Kajima Corporation are exhibiting a transparent RF shield for MRI examination rooms.

This allows MRI examination rooms to have large areas of windows, reducing the feeling of claustrophobia experienced by some patients.
