Hitachi is offering three open systems in the UK: the new APERTO 0.4T, the AIRISmate 0.2T, and the 0.3T AIRIS II.



	APERTO 0.4T
	Magnet The Hitachi APERTO 0.4T system is a new 0.4T permanent magnet system based on a one column support design. The system has a mass of 10 tonnes. It has VOSI technology: Vertical-field with Optimised Sub-system Integration. The patient couch is a special feature of this magnet. This is positioned at an angle to the one column system giving a panoramic, 320° open access. The patient gap is 38 cm. The couch is 70 cm wide and has a side sliding movement with a stroke of 300 mm. Two footswitches located at the lower end of the table allow automatic operation. RF System The APERTO 0.4T has a 4-channel RF system. Gradients The gradient system amplitude is 22 mT/m with a slew rate of 55 T/m/s. Applications Hitachi is showing that APERTO 0.4T is capable of diffusion weighted imaging and single shot EPI.



	AIRIS II 0.3T
	Magnet The AIRIS II 0.3T system has a 0.3 tesla permanent, self-shielded magnet. The main field has a vertical orientation. The 5 Gauss fringe field is at 195cm in the horizontal plane and 245 cm in the vertical plane. The system also incorporates a three-axis, per-patient shim. The patient gap is 43 cm vertically and 110 cm post to post. The specially designed gantry opening is 210° at the front and 70° at the back. The patient couch is 80 cm wide and can travel through a vertical distance of 45 cm. It can accommodate patients of up to 227 kg in mass. The couch also has two-speed, power-driven longitudinal movements. The lateral movement is ±50 cm. Gradients The gradient system has an amplitude of 15 mT/m with a slew rate of 30T/m/sec. Applications Hitachi is showing that APERTO 0.4T is capable of diffusion weighted imaging and single shot EPI.



	AIRISmate 0.2T
	Magnet The AIRIS MATE has a 0.2 T permanent magnet. The main field has a vertical orientation. The specially designed gantry opening is 230° at the front and 70° at the back. RF System The coils available are: multiple-array head coil head and neck coil multiple-array head and neck coil joint coils (M,L,S) TMJ coil multiple-array wrist coil breast coil multiple-array knee coil QD multiple-array shoulder coil multiple-array flexible body coils (M,S,L)
