David Price obtained his first degree
in Physics at Queen
Mary College, London in 1988.
A strong interest in Magnetic Resonance
Imaging began during his MSc in Medical Physics at the University
of Surrey in 1989-90 which included
a research dissertation on MRI at Guys
Hospital.
In 1992 he began work at Singleton Hospital,
Swansea, as a trainee physicist. In 1993 he specialised in
diagnostic radiology, performing quality assurance on x-ray
equipment in radiology departments across southwest Wales.
January 1997 saw him complete the
Higher Training Scheme of the Institute
of Physics and Engineering in Medicine.
David has a particular interest in MRI safety
and has presented a number of papers on the safety issues
associated with acoustic noise.
He is working towards a PhD on MRI safety
focusing on hazards to the foetus during exposure to the pregnant
patient and the pregnant worker.
